If a person wants to use a Slovak birth certificate abroad, it is necessary to inquire at the relevant office about the acceptable date of issue for the birth certificate. In practice, most offices accept birth certificates that are no older than six months.

If you do not have a current birth certificate, we can request a duplicate based on a power of attorney, which must be notarized. We will prepare the power of attorney, apostille or superlegalize the document, and, if necessary, arrange for an official translation.

When do you need an apostille on a birth certificate?
